Summer Group Activities Timberline Boy Scout and Explorer Scout 2003 Summer Program Now is the time to plan your troop's summer trip to Timberline, which is ideally suited as your annual summer destination. We offer our bunkhouse or condos for summer rental or you can always bring your tent and sleep under the stars, all are available at affordable rates. The Mountain Biking Center at Timberline provides everything you need to enjoy an adventure on Herz Mountain. We have scenic trails winding through woodlands for beginners and more strenuous climbs and downhills for the experienced riders. Circle T Stables at Timberline offers lessons and guided tours at reduced prices for your scouts and explorers. We can also help the boys obtain their Horsemanship Merit Badge. Whitewater rafting is available nearby on the Cheat River, which is recognized as being one of the "big three rivers" in West Virginia. Trout fishing in the Blackwater River is also an idea for your group. Special fishing license can be obtained at a very low cost. The above are just a few of the many activities available at Timberline and in the surrounding area for your troop to participate in. Campfires at the mountain will add to the enjoyment of your day whether you're tenting or staying indoors. You may also enjoy meals in our main lodge. Timberline is dedicated to helping scouts and our summer program is just another way of doing that.
